LEE, M.D. General SurgeryBariatric Program Director Dr. Lee attained his medical training in Indiana and Kentucky, beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude from Notre Dame in 1992. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine, attaining his M.D. in 1996. He performed his Surgery Residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis from 1997–2001. His practice focuses on advanced laparoscopy of the gastrointestinal tract, including bariatric and general surgery. He has performed more than 900 bariatric procedures, and is the Medical Director of the Columbus Regional Health Bariatric Center and the Chairman of the Columbus Regional Health Cancer Committee. During his post-surgical training at Indiana University, Dr. Lee received the prestigious Leonard Ensminger Award for Trauma Research in 1999. He was also the recipient of the 1993 Medical Student Research Award from the University of Louisville. Dr. Lee is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the Association for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is married with two children.
