Dr. Alex Gandsas is Chief of Surgery at Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford. He is also Professor and Chair with the Department of Surgery of UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to joining Kennedy in 2010, Dr. Gandsas had served as Chief of the Division of Bariatric Surgery and Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and was an Associate Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A 1985 graduate of the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina, Dr. Gandsas completed his General Surgery Residency at North Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac, MI, and a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He completed a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2001. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Gandsas holds a Master in Business Administration degree from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School in Baltimore, MD.
