About Me

Dr. David Buchin is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Huntington Hospital. He has more then 10 years of general surgery, minimal invasive surgery and bariatric surgery experience. Dr Buchin has been performing obesity surgery since 2005 and is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. Dr Buchin is a board certified general surgeon, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After his surgical residency from North Shore-LIJ Health System he completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive surgery and Bariatric surgery at the Minimally Invasive Institute of New York. Dr Buchin was the first surgeon in Long Island to perform the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. He was also the first surgeon in the North Shore-LIJ Health System to perform the Stomaphyx procedure
