Dr. Artuso is a warm, compassionate and extraordinary medical professional that surpassed all expectations for me and my family. His staff is deserving of the same accolades with the exception of one individual, Ms. Brenda Lee. The details of the numerous condescending and incompetent encounters observed w/ other patients & experienced myself with this individual, are not worth further explanation- neither is she worth being a part of this exceptional office.

My first visit with Dr, Artuso went very well. He was knowledgeable and informative and helped me choose the most beneficial surgery for me. I am excited to be working with him towards my goal of optimal health and can't wait to get started. Oh! His staff at the Poughkeepsie and Dobbs Ferry office was both helpful and professional.

I first met Dr. Artuso about a year ago. He had done my cousin's bypass 6 years ago and she told me how wonderful he is. When I met him I knew he was the doctor for me. As I started the process for insurance approval his staff was right there for me. Explaining and helping every step of the way. I have nothing but good things to say about his staff, they're the best! After surgery I had a small anesthesia complication but Dr. Artuso was all over it. He came to see me everyday to make sure I was okay. He has a great bedside manner and you can tell he truly cares for his patients. He ended up keeping me in the hospital for an extra day and sending me home on Easter. Dr. Artuso came in early Easter morning to make sure I was released so I could be home with my 2 little boys and the rest of my family for Easter. I highly recommend Dr. Artuso not only for his surgical skills but for his caring bedside manner and for truly being there for his patients. Thank you Dr. Artuso for everything you have done for me!

Meeting with Dr. Artuso was very informative. I knew going in to the appointment that I wanted to pursue the Lap-Band. He explained everything to me in easy to understand language. The staff has been very helpful when I call they answer my questions quickly. Aftercare is a key component of the process.

My first impression of Dr. Artuso was that he was a calm, brilliant person who listened to his patients concerns and addressed them accordingly. He did not gloss over anything. he was very realistic about what I should expect from the surgery and that it was not a cure, but a tool. He spent a good 30-45 minutes with me at the first meeting. He asked me if I wanted the lap-band or the gastric bypass & explained the pros & cons of both.. Explaining the risks, even death...I wanted the GB. He gave me the scripts for all I needed to get the process going and told me I could not gain any more weight. He also said if I managed to get my appts done inthe next month or so, I could expect to have my surgery in July. (this was the end of may). Only thing I didnt like was that Dr. Artuso was a bit of a hike for me, over 1.5 hours south, but came highly recommended from another surgeon. But this is my problem, not his...I wanted someone not in my area as I am an RN and work at the local major hospital where this surgery is performed. afterccare is very important to Dr. Artuso & siince I am so far, he did give me permission to find clinicians up here to do my pre op work ups. I also agreed to do all follow ups in Poughkeepsie & my support groups here in Albany. He felt that was approriate. His office staff was fanitastic. The only complaint I have about the office is a minor one, my file took some time to get off to the insurance company, and this could be more the fault of my insurance and stall tactics that they are famous for. When i did finally get approval, my date was set right away for2/5 @ St. Francis hospital and then i found out from hi office staff that the hospital does not participate with my insurance. They offered to work out a contract deal or I could drive another hour south to Dobbs Ferry & do my surgery there on MOnday 2/4. I agreed to not wait & just make the drive..rnHis surgical compitence is second to none. he was a brilliant surgeon and I can say this because there was a suprise & I had a lot of adhesions, which was completely unexpected since i've never had adb surgery. He took his time addressing this issue. His bedside manner was fantastic. I can't say enough wonderful things about this Surgeon. If you choose him, you are in the hands of an expert.

I've only met with Dr. Artuso once. Nice man, answered all of my questions. Surgery is set for 10/23/2007. Will provide more details after surgery. Well I'm 3 days post -op and feeling good. Dr. Artuso was fantasic!! I saw him last week at a health fair, he answered questions for me and my wife. My surgery was a difficult one .. took 3 hrs because of scar tissue from a previous surgery. He was at my bedside when I came through .. he found my wife and went over everything with her! Two days later I got a call from his staff, they were checking in to see how I was doing. I told them I felt he pain pills were a little big .. He was in surgery .. couple hours later phone rings .. Dr. Artuso!! I would highly recommend him. Great bedside manner and gets back to his patients!! I'm now 1 month out .. Dr. Artuso has been great, in fact .. I've recommended him to my daughter!!

My first impression was that I was talking with someone who was extrememly knowledgeable and passionate about his work. This was true the first time I met him up until the day of surgery. The office staff appear to be very caring and involved. The aftercare program appears to be tailored to the procedure and the way in which each individual is devoted to succeeding. All risks were appropriately addressed so that I fully understood what I was going into. Overall, I would rate Dr. Artuso as EXCELLENT! Dr. Artuso has both a good bedside manner and is a very competent surgeon.
