Dr. Rehnke is why I finally had the nerve to get lapband. I was so scared and had researched it with other doctors for a few years. He is knowledgeable, smart, sincere and positive. I have lost 110 lbs in 28 months and couldn't be happier. He always says I did the work with the help of a tool but having such a caring doctor makes all the difference. I don't even mind driving over an hour one way to see him. If you are considering WL surgery, I strongly encourage you to see Dr. Rehnke. He really did help me get my life back.
Dr. Rehnke has a fabulous bedside manner and is a wonderful surgeon. I had no issues with the pre-op, surgical procedure or post-op recovery. Unfortunately, after about 18 months, the Lap-Band simply failed. Nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Rehnke and his staff in St. Petersburg, Florida at all! If you are thinking of seeing him, do it :)
I was impressed with Dr. Rehnke from the night I met him at the seminar. His office staff is awsome. He has a structured before and aftercare program. He give detailed information about the risk of surgery. I rate him a 10 overall.
Dr Rehnke is very nice and informative, listened to all my questions and concerns.
So far I am very satisfied with him. The ony issue I have is that his office is ultra slow in getting things rolling for the approval from the insurance. I am thinking about going to another surgeon thats office personal are more aggressive with getting the requires documents and approvals faster.
JMHO
What was your first impression of him?rnVery knowledgeable, friendly, helpfulrn rnHow did your impression change over time? rnGrown...I could not imagine dealing with another doctor or staffrnrnHow would you describe his office staff? rnAwesome, they help you out and let you know what is needed, respond quickly, very friendly and helpful.rnrnWhat did you like least about him? rnThe only negative, which does not bother me more of an observation is Dr. Rehnke will kind of cut you off, he will try to answer your question before you finish asking. I am sure he has heard them all so he just figures out what is coming next. That is something I observed. rnrnWhat should future patients know about him? rnHe talks very fast, but answers everything and makes you feel very assured in what is going on.rnrnHow much does he emphasize aftercare? rnVery MUCH...that the band is a tool and I have to use it right and that means follow up appointments to get it to the right spot and then check ups for awhile. That everytime I get a fill it will be like a whole new surgery over again!rnrnDoes he have a structured aftercare program?rnPost op for my first fill yes, after that I am not sure how many appointments I will need but he does stress the importance of making appointments when needed, etc... rnrnHow did he address the risks of surgery?rnThe staff at the two orientations I went to did a great job of going over the risks. I worry a lot, but I have to take a chance. rnrnHow would you rate him overall? rnGreatrnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? rnBoth are great but I lean more towards surgical competence.
i really liked him.rnhasn'trnvery efficientrnn arnas long as you follow his instructionsrnalotrnyesrnexplained all my questions and i had faith in himrnexcellentrnare both great
When I first met Dr.Rehnke I liked him right away. His concern for his patients was real, something I had not found in any of the other doctors I had talked to. He made sure I understood he was giving me a tool to work with, not a miracle. He explained all the risks and things he expected of me. His staff was there for me, with an instant answer to all my questions, and made me feel like I was special, not just a number. His care after surgery was great, making sure I was doing all the right things. He is a wonderful doctor, I would recommend him to everyone. I believe surgical competence is the most important, however I was blessed to have both surgical competence and bedside manner with my special doctor. Thank you Dr.Rehnke for giving me my life back.
I was impressed with Dr. Rehnke from the first time I met him at the seminar. He is a fabulous surgeon and treats you kind and respectful. I think he is the best of the best and there couldn't be better.
Dr Rehenke has the best bed side manner. seems to really care about his patients and answers any and all questions until u feel comfortable. The surgery was a breeze and i deffinately feel that i picked the right surgeon for the job...rnThe office staff are very friendly and always has a smile on there face... rnthe least thing i liked about this, is that after i was allowed food, i wasn;t quite sure what veggies i was allowed to eat. i think a list should be made to pass out to post op patients...rnI rate this experience an A++++++++++++rnPatients need surgical competence and great bedside manner . both are very much important to me...
Great Doctor. He fixed my hiatel hernia while inserting my lap band, and he did it for free!
