My experience with Dr. Simon has been wonderful. From the very first consult to present he has been nothing but supportive, professional and patient. Our relationship really developed when I had to have emergency surgery to repair my band. Once inside he saw that he couldn't repair my band but would have to remove it. We had not discussed this possibility prior to the surgery, so when I woke up I was devistated. He spoke to my husband after the surgery with the plan to see me the next day. Before he had a chance to personally talk to me, one of the nurses called to tell him how upset I was because the band was removed. He then took the time to call me and talk to me about it. He was very reassuring and comforting. Since then he has been a tremendous help in fighting with my insurance company for the revision surgery. We finally won the fight and I am scheduled 10/26. I really think the world of him and am grateful that he is MY surgeon!!! God couldn't have given me a better surgeon. His nurse Patricia is outstanding also. I couldn't have done any of this without her. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and very, very patient!! They really are a great team and when you throw in the rest of the staff you have a great medical team. I just can't say enough good things about them. I have 100% faith and confidence in Dr. Simon and know that I am in the best hands possible for the journey ahead of me. If you decide to have surgery by Dr. Simon you will NOT be disappointed. He is the BEST!!

My first impression of Dr. Simon was that he wasn't very personable. I was a little shy and reserved about asking questions, but as time went on I became more comfortable. Plus I would rather have a surgeon who can answer every question for me and make me feel comfortable with the surgery than a surgeon who is just being nice. The other staff members in the office were a big help too. The nurse I worked with, Patricia, was absolutely amazing! She had so much patience when it came to me asking a ton of questions. Patricia really helped me through the whole process. rnMy experience with Dr. Simon's office was a good one.

As of today 8/22/06 I am still pre-op, I anticipate completing the required work (Pulmonology, Cardiology, Mental Health Specialist etc) by the end of this week...rnrnPrior to meeting Dr. Fred Simon, I was told that he had a \"short\" personality. I entered his office expecting him to be cold and impersonal. Dr. Simon was with an assistant on my inital meeting and he was rather nice. I found that at this time he was \"doctorly\" we did not become best of friends but I am confident that his medical knowledge is what I am looking for in a surgeon. Dr. Simon has a nurse named Patricia who is a guru with assisting you with this life choice. I felt comfortable with his ENTIRE staff. rn

Dr. Simon is truly a gifted surgeon. He has a wonderful staff to help patients through the pre and postop journey. If you want a surgeon to baby you and hold your hand the entire time, then he is not for you. He is very much a to-the-point kind of doctor and realistically that is what I needed. He is extremely knowledgeble and will answer any questions or concerns you have about the surgery or possible complications. The staff at the center provides more of the one- on-one time. There are always available to answe questions. In fact, one of the ladies in the office had the surgery performed by Dr. Simon himself.

My opinion of Dr Simon is that he is very
professional and very nice. Dr Simon answered all my questions in detail during my consultation and when I attended his monthly info meeting he answered even more questions and provided alot of great information there as well. His staff has been nothing but wonderful! Patricia and Helen have been patient with me answering all my questions and making me feel relaxed when I was nervous. Jodie the nutritionalist has been great too-she is very easy to talk to with a great sense of humor. I feel Dr Simons program includes great support before, during and after surgery-He conducts info sessions for preop info and after there are support group meetings as well. During my preop appointment a week before surgery I was able to meet and talk to Dr Simons first patient that he performed WLS on over a year and a half ago, I thought that was great! She was an inspiration and it really made my nerves subside talking to her. I would give Dr Simon and his office staff an A+

Dr. Simon was the surgeon who removed my gallbladder back in 2003, but I was unaware he did WLS at that time. I just found out! He was very thorough, informative. I haven't had my WLS yet, but I am sure everything will be fine. I will be sure to let you know.
