Dr Metz is the best. His bedside manor is far superior to any doctor I have met. I think it is Parker's loss to not have him anymore. I wouldn't even consider dr long as I have heard he takes numerous hours to do a surgery and he is brand new to bariatrics. I met with many other doctors in town and hands down felt cared for and confident in his skills

Dr. Kirshenbaum and his medical team where great. They called me the night before and answered questions that I may have had....The day of surgery which was held a Crown Point in Parker - the facility was clean and the employees were very nice and attentative....After I got in the OR and scooted over to the bed... I don't remember anything else until they woke me up in recovery.

Gave me a popsicles and constantly made sure I was not in pain or nauseated.

If I had to do it all over again I would still go with Kirshenbaum. Apparently I had a hernia that he removed also. I didn't even see that coming. This could be why I am a little more sore than I should be.
Dr. Kirshenbaum you ROCK...

Dr. Kirshenbaum made me feel at ease as soon as he walked in the room. He smiled, greated me warmly, chatted about real estate - shared a bit about his house and the thought of selling at one time. It was personal information about him that he shared openly, it really helped me to relax.
His staff was very friendly and when I started to cry Nicole grabed me by the hand and walked me to meet their "success" story. That inspired me more and told me that I made the right decision. Nicole gave me a hug and told me that I would be alright.
I loved everything about Dr. Kirshenbaum. He is warm and caring constantly asked me if I had questions, very detailed oriented - he knows his stuff.
He treated me like I was a person and a human being that mattered.
He is a great doctor and takes pride in his work. He shared stories of what not to do and told me he had two bad stories and after sharing them he said "please follow my instructions because I don't want a 3rd" then he smiled at me with his warm eyes. No 3rd coming from me that is for sure.
He told me about the risks and even showed me photos of what would happen if I didn't follow ALL of his instructions. He constantly told me to call him if I had any questions after leaving his office.
I would rate Dr. Kirshenbaum 250%.
His competence was outstanding - I have not experienced his bed side mannor yet but if he is like he was today - I am sure his bedside manner is the icing on the cake.
He told me about the support groups in his office and encouraged me to attend.
I had my nutritional consult with Paula over the phone and she is very good at what she does. She really helps you get to the root of things and she is very knowledgable on what you need to eat, the vitamins that you need to take and of course told you what would happen to you physically if you don't follow her instructions to the "T".
Dr. Kirshenbaums daughter leads the support groups.
I am estatic and very glad I chose him for my surgery - all the mixed feelings I had when I walked in his office went away after I met him.

Where do I start?
Yesterday was my 3 year Bandiversary! Dr. Kirshenbaum saved my life. I tell him thank you for all he's done and he reminds me that I've done the hard work. Perhaps, I have done the work, BUT without his willingness and expertise to place my LapBand, I would never been where I am today. My highest weight was 488. My surgery weight was 438. I am just 60lbs from a normal BMI now. I no longer have high BP, high cholesterol or pre-diabetes. I am a new person!
His office staff is wonderful! They are my biggest cheerleaders! Everyone of them have been pleasant and very helpful through out the last 3 years. I have not one negative to say about Dr. K, Tom, his PA who does fills on Thursday mornings, Natalie his coordinator or anyone else in his office!
If you are looking for a surgeon with a lot of experience, a big heart and the true desire to see you meet your weight loss goals - go to Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum! You will not regret it!

I havent met the Doctor yet, will meet him the first time at my pre-op appt on April 7. I did have a phone consult with him and he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I like his office staff, so far I have only dealt personally with Nicole, but she is very nice. The doctor spent about an hour with me on the phone explaining the operation/risks/aftercare and then I spent about an hour on the phone with their nutritionist, she was very informative and it actually gave me a big morale boost to speak with her. She explained before and after diets and answered my three pages of questions wonderfully. I am very excited but nervous.

When I first met Dr. K, I was very impressed with his down to earth attitude and no nonsense approach to the lap band as only a tool for my success.rnrnDr. K's office staff were wonderful and extremely helpful.rnrnOnly negative I have is that I live in Golden and his office is in Aurora, no big deal.rnrnThings to know about Dr. K - Why go to Mexico when you can get quality care in the United States and for the price of $9,900 for the Lap Band.rnrnDr. K has a great aftercare program, support group and a very cost effective appt rate for fills after surgery.rnrnOverall - Dr. K is most AWESOME. My surgery is scheduled for April 29, 2009.

Dr. K is terrific! He takes the time to answer all questions, and his staff is incredibly caring and all of them are fantastic. His staff is trained well and provides all the after-care any lap-band patient could ask for. Dr. K spoke in detail about the risks of surgery, but also the steps he takes to prevent those things from happening. He's just all-around a fantastic surgeon with great bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

Dr, K and his staff have been wonderful. Although I live in the same state, I live 250 miles away from his office, so I am just like an out of state patient. I haven't had any issues with care/treatment and have had excellent phone and email support! They seem to do a good job of supporting me even from a far.

I heard about Dr. K by word of mouth. In 2006, word was there was a doctor in Colorado doing banding for under 10K to keep patients from going into Mexico (out of the country ) for surgery to save money. I called their office and found the staff friendly, open and informative. They sent me a packet. I decided to go with this doctor after reading other feedback on another forum, Lapbandtalk.com He presented my presurgical interview by phone sending me by email a Power Point. He was very methodical, not rushed, clear and easy to understand. As an educator, knowing what I was going to go through and having it explained so clearly was a very important thing to me. Meeting him in person, I was surprised to find him to be a slight man with a warm smile. His office was furnished with some of his own photography. The simple touches and welcome feeling put me at ease. My surgery was a breeze. My post care follow up, I choose to fly to Denver after a bad experience here in the Tampa area, has been successful all the way. I remain grateful to this doctor for changing my life and being willing to take on a patient with a BMI so high, a local doctor actually told me I would not fit on his table. No one should ever feel so humiliated. I am glad I stuck to it, found Dr. Kirshenbaum who opened the gate for this new path in my life.
