Due to my original surgeon deciding to move out of state mid-process, I got switched to Dr. Rasmussen about 3 weeks before my surgery. I was not happy. I was concerned he was too young and inexperienced, and I had done a lot of research on my original doctor.
I had a great consult with him, and was pleased with his fellowship at UC Davis. He is older than he looks. He answered all my questions, was more than willing to discuss bougie sizes, personal failure rates, etc. with me. His manner is very confidence inspiring and I felt he had training and a fair number of sleeves under his belt. So I went forward with him. I am only 5 days post-op, but I have had a super smooth recovery. I had great care in the hospital, he came several times a day, and I had no gas pain afterwards.
Dr. Rasmussen is very personable, answers all your questions and will address all of your concerns. The office staff is very friendly. His is the only bariatric practice that doesn't charge a program fee. I started seeing him because I wasn't getting the aftercare that I desired from my previous surgeon. He does the lap band adjustments himself and personally sees his patients for aftercare. His bedside manner is wonderful. He's soft spoken and that is the only weakness so far that I can come up with. I've seen him a few times and really like him so far.
