    About Lisa Medvetz

     

     

    Dr. Medvetz has worked in the Philadelphia area during her entire career. She is a general and bariatric surgeon with over ten years of experience. Dr. Medvetz was motivated to become a surgeon so that she could help and support people during their time of need. She feels honored to be a trusted part of their lives and she feels the best reward is when her patients thank her for the care she provides. Dr. Medvetz joined the Barix Clinics team because of the in-depth and supportive program; the nursing and care team are the best and most experienced in the region, and everyone is so caring about the patient’s experience at the hospital.

     

    Dr Medvetz’s medical school training was at JeffersonMedicalCollege and her surgical residency was at TempleUniversityHospital. Dr. Medvetz also completed fellowships in trauma/surgical critical care at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center and minimally-invasive surgery at BethIsraelMedicalCenter. Dr. Medvetz performs laparoscopic/open Roux-en-y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric band, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, and revision surgery.

     

    Dr. Medvetz is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the AmericanCollege of Surgeons. She is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Outside of the office, Dr. Medvetz is inseparable from her two children. She also enjoys travel, horseback riding, and gardening.
