I had my surgery on Oct 27, 2011 and I have to say that I absolutely love Dr Johnell and his staff. They are so kind and so helpful and patient. I recommend you go and check him out their program is amazing! They make it so easy you have no excuse! So check it out!!

Everyone at Dr. Johnell's office was very kind and friendly and the chairs even fit. They explained things they way that anyone could understand not using too many medical terminologies.
The especially encourage you to join in the support groups and if you have any problems or questions they are always just a phone call away.

I am very plaesed with my surgeon. I love how they call me every few weeks just to see how i am doing and how they help me in every other aspect of my care and not just surgery. They are even my advocate with my ins. and have helped me get other medical needs qualified. They show genuine concern for my health and well being and I never have to remind them for a prescriptionor referral as I do with my Family Physician.

My PCP recommended Dr. Johnelle for my surgery. I also have a couple of friends who work/have worked at NCMC and only had good things to say about him as a surgeon. Dr. Johnelle himself strikes me as a friendly, but busy man. I feel comfortable talking with him, and he seems very knowledgeable. When I have a question he answers it thoroughly, but sometimes I feel a bit rushed when he's around. It's not that I feel he's not paying attention to me, because he is paying attention. He just has this air about him that makes you feel like you need to be moving. rnrnWhat impressed me most at the Bariatric Surgery Services office is that the entire team is very friendly and willing to help out. I met with the nurse, dietician, billing specialist, and several others long before my surgery date was even set. I know that I can call any of them at any time with questions. rnrnThere are several optional classes available and a mandatory class for aftercare. My appointments are only a few weeks apart for the first year and I feel well cared-for. Overall I have been very impressed with Dr. Johnelle and his team, and I am thrilled with the results of my surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Johnell was that he was up-to-date on the latest research and techniques, that he was extremely experienced, and his staff was fabulous. Aftercare is the MOST emphasized aspect of surgery, and the choice in office staff shows this to be true. I've had great aftercare and am extremely happy with the technical care, the education, and support I've received from Dr. Johnell and the whole office. This office gets a 10 out of 10. I'm a nurse and it's hard to please me.....I am totally satisfied with my choice to use Dr. Johnell and his staff. There was previously an NP on staff who was less than fabulous, but she is gone and replaced with a great, just out of school, enthusiastic PA.

Dr Johnell is very professional in every way. My first experience at the office was very good the staff was polite and up-beat which makes all their patients feel good. The initial process of all the testing was over whelming but in the end I felt well taken care of. I had to do 6 month supervised weight loss with Gina and Steve and this was a big key in getting me prepared for the life change I was going through. Both Gina And Steve help direct me in getting ready for this change both were very helpful and I thank both of them. The aftercare program is very good. The support group they have has given me a good avenue to ask questions and listen to other people’s experience. Thanks to the staff and Doctor Johnell

I think Dr. Johnell is a wonderful doctor, he made me feel very comfortable at my first appoinmnet with him. I have heard nothing but good comments about him in the surgery room, I am still waiting for my surgery date. Everyone in his office is very helpful and understanding. I can't wait to have my surgery and I will let everyone know how him and his staff did.
