i thank you very much for the present that you gave to me. I feel so much better and it has only been 3 weeks. You are a wonderful surgeon and I am glad that you are here on this newly found journey with me. THANK YOU
sorry doc, your guilty by association,
hes really a great guy i think,
i only spoke to him 3 times and everytime he was reasuring it would all work out,
let me just say that the sale is amazing, but the service after sucks.
again not his fault, he probaly not even getting my messeges,
I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Guske and the Kane Center. I had never had surgery before, and Dr. Guske patiently explained the entire process and answered my long list of questions. I never felt rushed or that my questions were silly or unimportant. I had absolutely no complications from the surgery and found my recovery to be much easier than I expected. I know that everyone's experience is unique, but having a highly skilled surgeon is the most important factor in having a successful procedure, and I would choose Dr. Guske again in a heartbeat. The Kane Center requires very thorough pre-operative testing and if you are also having to participate in a medically supervised diet to fulfill insurance approval requirements, it may seem to take a while to finally have your surgery scheduled. However, your patience and preparations will pay off in the end. Aftercare is also stressed, with the Kane Center requiring regular follow-up visits with lab work.

He takes the time to listen. I have never felt rushed by him. He always praises me for my success, and helps me rationalize my negative feelings of not losing enough because I truly have been more than successful in his eyes!
Extremely thorough doctor always in tune with the needs of the patients. He has been one of the best doctors I have every gone to with the greatest personal touch. You are never rushed always answers all your queations with a smile & a thorough explanation. He has always made me feel confidant being in his care & his bedside manner is one of the best I have ever had. Could not have been to anyone better.
I met Dr. Guske for the first time yesterday. It was my first consult. My first impression of him could not have been better. Like most doctors these days, he wasn't in a hurry to get out the door. He answered ALL of my questions. I am looking forward to being under his care.
Dr.Guske and his partners are great. From my first impression of him to how I feel about him now, he has the best bedside manner and really cares about his patients. His office staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable. I have no complaints. I just wish that I would have seen him more while in the hospital but from a nurses perspective, I know that docs need to rotate who rounds on patients. He did surprise me one night post-op and stop in, while I thought it would be Dr.Kane. His nurse practitioners are also very good and knowledgeable. Their office stresses the importance of aftercare and support groups. I personally have had no complications and if I had any questions about risks, they were all addressed very thoroughly. I give Dr.Guske and his staff at the Kane center a 9.5. He had a great bedside manner and is very competant when it comes to caring for me.
Dr. Guske is one of the best all-time surgeons that I have encountered. I ahve had many surgeries over the years & he is TOPS! He is knowlegable, likeable, compasionate, sincere, etc.. rnHe performed Lapband as well as hernia repair on me. I would trust my life in his surgical-hands, anyday!rnI look forward to a long doctor-patient relationship with him. rnThe process at the Kane center is a bit production line, but Dr. Guske makes it more personal. rnHis nurses are great & quick to help. rnDr. Guske seems to truly love his work & his patients. rnThe hospital was great as well. I was only in there 24 hours!!
Dr. Guske performed my RNY Gastric Bypass in September 2001. My experience with him was very positive and I had a speedy, trouble free recovery. I saw him several times for follow up during my first year after surgery, and then again at my two year surgery anniversary. Since that time, I have switched family physicians several times and the information his office provided to my original family physician regarding follow up monitoring has been lost. I have emailed, called and written to Dr. Guske's office asking for information to be sent to my new family physician - but his staff hasn't sent the information. I live 2 1/2 hours from Dr. Guske's office, so I can't just pop in and make a nuisance of myself until his staff gives me a copy of the recommended blood tests and any other important follow up information. My situation is further complicated by the fact that I developed anemia due to malabsorpion when I was about five years out. My family physician isn't familiar with the recommended blood tests, and it would be ever so helpful if Dr. Guske's office would send her the list of tests. My caution to all current and potential patients of this practice would be to assure you have everything you're going to need in YOUR possession at the two year anniversary of your surgery, because once that date passes, there is no follow up or assistance available from the Kane Center staff.
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Guske. He was my lap-band surgeon and I am a little over a year post-op. Dr. Guske answered all of my questions and did not try to minimize the risks of surgery and he never \"talked down\" to me. My impression is that he is knowledgable, competent, and genuine. Every visit with him is thorough, he does not try to \"rush\" you in & out of the exam room. He always takes time to answer all of my numerous questions and does so with an interested and caring attitude. My personal experience is that Dr. Guske demonstrated to me that he is invested in his patients' total health and welfare (i.e., making sure my other health issues are being treated and they are improving as well as remembering my family). My impression of him is that he treats me like a complete person instead of just a surgery patient as can be so common in western medicine. I have met with other bariatric surgeons before and have not had a good experience. One gave me incorrect information about erosion and another showed a demeaning attitude towards potential surgery patients in a seminar when addressing their questions. My opinion of the Dr/Patient relationhip with Dr. Guske is it has the small-town warmth with the big-city experience. He does not stop being your doctor after the surgery is done. He is with you for the long-term and shows a sincere caring for his patients' needs. With me, Dr. Guske emphasized the importance of after-care in long-term success and I think it has really helped for me. My comorbidities of hypertension and borderline diabetes have resolved themselves. And before my surgery, I was a size 18 to 20. Now, I'm a size 0 or 2, depending on the brand! I am healthy and active again and finally feel pretty again too. THANK YOU for helping me reach all of my goals Dr. Guske!
