About Me

Dr. Ricardo Bonnor received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston with Highest Honors in 1999. Prior to his studies at UTMB Galveston, he received his Master of Science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and his undergraduate degree in Biology from Baylor Univeristy in Waco.

He held a private practice of laparoscopic and general surgery in Houston at West Houston Surgical Associates from 2005 to 2006, and currently practices general and bariatric minimally invasive surgery at Texas Endosurgery in Katy, Texas.

Dr. Bonnor is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons), the Harris County Medical Society and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.

In addition to his medical practices, Dr. Bonnor also was an instructor at the Baylor College of Medicine and at the University of UNAM in Monterrey, Mexico, where he trained surgical students in the laparoscopic treatment of Ventral Hernias. He was also an instructor at the Christus Corpus Christi Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Dr. Bonnor has authored numerous medical articles and surgical textbooks, including those concerning the laparoscopic treatment of colon cancer and biliary tract disease, and completed a research program at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
