Dr. Stahl is now at UAB and I had a RNY bypass performed on 11-10-2010. The folks in the department of surgery are good at making sure you are well prepared before and after the surgery. A bit of pain now (11-12-2010) otherwise, no complications whatsoever.

Her name is Pepi Humphrey. She is wonderful. This is a new position and she is working hard to define it.rnrnThey do not emphasize going to support groups, but I am hoping this changes with the new changes at the hospital.rn

My surgeon came highly recommended to me by my family practice physician and my wife's OB/GYN. From my experiences, he is an outstanding Dr. who is truly realistic about the options of weight loss surgery. His Bariatric program at Baptist Shelby medical center is outstanding in their care. They see that you have done all paperwork and crossed all the \"T\"s before you can have an initial consult. Once you have your initial consult, you are almost assured of the insurance approval. Dr. Stahl also has a great bedside manner and never acts to be in a hurry. He will stay with you and answer questions as long as you have them. He is super fantastic! I would recommend him to everyone !! his group has the most experience in gastric bypass surgery in the state of Alabama ! My best friend used him 8 yrs. ago and is doing great still !!

My first impression of Dr. Stahl was very positive. He took time with me and made sure I understood all the ins and outs of my surgery. The staff in his office were great. Totally supportive. Never minded my questions (and I called daily!) Overall I rate him a 10!!! Surgical competence? He took the extra time to do my surgery laproscopically insted of open - made all the difference in recovery. Another surgeon would have taken the easy way out. I cannot recommend Dr. Stahl highly enough!

My initial visit with Dr. Stahl went extremely well. He seemed very interested in me as a patient and was willing to stay as long as needed to answer all my questions. I am very excited to have chosen him as my surgeon and have every confidence in him and his staff. Dr. Stahl takes time to go over the pros and cons of the surgery both risks and successes. He also stresses the importance of aftercare. I would rate him a 10. Cahaba Valley Surgical has a wonderful, friendly staff. They seem to genuinely love their job and care for their patients. I would highly recommend this group if you are considering WLS.

He is an excellent surgeon. I did a lot of research and was informed that he was one of the best surgeons in the whole south. I am so glad that I chose him as my doctor. During surgery there was a problem with my stomach. My stomach was adhered to my diaphram and he got it unstuck. It took surgery 2 hours more than planned. He did a wonderful job and took his time even though he had several more surgeries to do that day.
