    Dr. Wilkenfeld formed Texas Gastric Banding. He has undergone intense training, including a Fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, In 2003. Having been certified by Inamed, the manufacturer of the Lap-Band, he was then chosen and trained at AIGB's main facility in Richardson Dr. Wilkenfeld is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Society for Bariartric Surgery, the Texas Society of Bariatric Surgeons and is an Associate Clinical Professor at the UT Health Science Center Houston for the Conroe Family Practice Residency. I have found that the Lap-Band procedure is the most gratifying, life enhancing procedure that I have ever done. To see the smiles and happiness on my patients faces as they lose weight is fantastic.
