Dr. Cooper was phenomenal. He was compassionate, thorough, and was my advocate with the insurance company. I would recommend him to anyone!

He is wonderful! I believe he really cares about the patients he works with, his office staff and nursing staff are very professional and prompt. He answered all my questions and even waited while I figured out what I wanted to ask. He answered in a way I could really understand. My surgery went very well and while I'm only a week out, I'm very happy :) Can't wait to see the new me!

Dr. Cooper is excellent. He is very slow and laid back, but don't let that fool you. He is very knowledgeable and a highly skilled surgeon. He listens to everything you have to say and makes sure all your questions are answered. He has a very gentle bedside manner. His staff is great and takes care of any concerns you may have. They report all problems immediately to Dr. Cooper and are great about returning phone calls. Dr. Cooper is adamant that WLS is a tool and only a tool for weight loss. While it is a very powerful tool, you have to be educated and willing to use it. It is not an automatic cure for obesity.
Post operatively, he makes sure that you are recieving antiemetics around the clock, and explained that nausea is the stomach's way of letting you know that you are in pain and to take pain medication when you are feeling nauseated. He is an excellent all around surgeon.

My surgeon was Dr. Cooper in Seymour, In. He is an awesome doctor. He is very knowlegable of the bariatric practice. He helped me prepare for surgery and answered all my questions. My surgery went very well. No complications. He checked up on me in the hospital. Dr. Cooper has a great after care program. He's dedicated to his patients and wants nothing but for them to be sucessful at weight loss. I would recommend him to anyone in the Seymour area that is interested in bariatric surgery. He is great.

I remember the first time I met Dr Cooper. I am a nurse at the local hospital, and he had just came to our facility. He was so nice, had an easy manner about him, and always showed the highest respect for his patients and their families, as well as the caregivers at the hospital. My respect for him has only grown over the years, as he has always maintained a calm composure, is respectful to everyone, and is always willing to teach patient, family, and hospital staff alike. His office staff is tops, very friendly and knowledgeable, and they never treat anyone like \"just a patient\", but like family that everyone is concerned about getting great care and getting better. I had considered bariatric surgery before he came to my area, but the surgeons in the next town didn't impress me enough to pursue it any further. Dr Cooper made me realize that I could have the surgery and learn to take care of myself again, in a healthy way. He made sure that I knew that this was a program, not just a surgery, and that this is a team effort, and not just me! I give him a perfect 10, as well as other patients of his do. If you're in Indiana and are considering any bariatric surgery, I urge you to talk to him and his team, they make you see the possibilities, while letting you know that the future is in your hands! So far my outcome has been excellent, but as a nurse, I knew the expectations, as well as any possible drawbacks. The only thing that some people may find lacking is that this facility is in a small town, and if you are not from the area, your support people may have a hard time finding things to do, although Indy, Louisville and Cincinnati are all within a drivable distance. Now, that being said, I prefer the small town atmosphere, although it's not everyone cup of tea.
