I had my appt at dr shin office on mon. I had to start all over due to insurance issues. His staff is abosultely wonderful and understanding. Dr Shin is a tell it how it is type of dr and is very straightforward about the risks and what is expected from you to be successful after surgery. He emphasizes that the surgery is a tool not a quick fix. He will stay and answer as many questions as you have and is very patient . I highly recommend him and his staff
I am halfway through my required six months of visits with Dr. Shin and his associates. I have been treated super by each and every one of them. I came into this blind, scared, confused. Dr. Shin has been more than wonderful describing each and every aspect of weight loss surgeries; telling me all options, going over my medical history and answering any and all questions I have had. I could not ask for a better doctor, as well as for a better qualified staff. From the front door to the back, all are more than gracious! I will definitely recommend this facility and Dr. Shin to anyone who I know is searching for answers. I eagerly await my next 3 visits followed by surgery and the rest of my life!!! Dr. Shin is an excellent physician, and really went in depth at discussing my surgery options. He answered any/all questions that I had about each one, and didnt try to push one or the other. He was very compassionate and didnt make you feel like "just another overweight person looking for a way out" I say this because people have often said this to me. Weight Loss Surgery is not just a "way out" It is only a tool to help you, and Dr. Shin expained that and made it very clear, that it is possible to cheat and gain weight back but you must use your tool wisely. Would I recommend him to friends/family. Yes ! His staff was wonderful as well.

I immediately knew at the seminar that I wanted Dr. Shin to perform this life changing surgery for me. His staff and nurses have been great!! I haven't had my surgery yet but had to do a 6 month supervised weight loss program and they have been there to guide me every step of the way

Dr. Shin is #1 in my book. From the first day I met him until this day, a year and 8 months later, the feeling is still the same!! He is kind, gentle, knowledgable, along with his office staff. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. He was upfront with me about the risks associated with the surgery. He was very stern about the aftercare program that was to follow and the consequences that would ensue if it was not followed. Thanks to him, I have a new outlook on life and enjoying life more than I have for a long time.

I adore this man. I truly believe he is at the top of his game and the best surgeon in this field in this region of the United States, if not within the whole U.S. His staff have been awesome. I adore nurses Fee-Fee and Michelle and Mary has been so good to me as well. Cannot say enough good about him. Great aftercare. Always willing to work you in and always always returns calls.
Dr Shinn is absolutely the best. And he actually cares. Its been 3 years since my gastric bypass and im still doing great. Thanks to him ive went from 270 to 139 and i am so very thankful. Thankful for him and his staff. I recommend him to anyone out there that is thinking of having this kind of surgery. I was so scared but he made it alright.. And they are always there to answer any question you may have and that makes me feel good.. God bless you Dr Shinn.. You are truley a blessing to me!!!!!
My first impression of Dr. Shin and his staff was that they really care about what they are doing. They have a genuine interest in their patients. He is very knowledgeable about the procedures and gives you ample information to make an informed decision about what is best for you. Of course he will tell you straight up what you have to do to be successful with WLS, but that is okay with me.
