Dr. Jones performed my gastric bypass surgery on Dec. 30, 2004.
I went home on January 1, 2005.. what a way to start a new phase of my life and a new year!
I am going on my 9th year and want to thank Dr. Jones immensely for the fanstastic job he did with my surgery and giving me my life back! I recommend Dr. Jones for anyone considering Gastric Bypass Surgery.. you'll be in the best hands!

Dr. Jones did my sleeve on Jan 31 2012 and the only thing I can say about him is that he is GREAT. Thanks Dr Jones for the tool to help me start my new life.

I really liked how Dr. Jones seemed to be genuinely involved with my weight loss process and it was good to be able to visit with him before surgery and after surgery. I think the whole clinic process with the book they give you and following the book (my bible) was awesome as you knew what to expect and had a place to write down questions and such for each meeting. I would really have liked to see Dr. Jones more in the process but I only saw him once. The only thing i had problems with was the whole Nutrition part. I think that one appointment was pretty good but that was only one appointment and more than one appointment to go over food and such would have been better. Although that might have been something my insurance dictated. Aftercare with the nutrition part has been a bit off as they seem to not have enough employees. I probably won't go to anymore nutrition appointments but rather talk to the surgical RN i have been dealing with with any more nutrition questions. The people in the office have been friendly and great. Great experience.

I was very pleased with my experience with Dr. Jones. The entire bariatric surgery team at Park Nicollet has been fantastic. Everyone I have met with has been very supportive and easy to work with. Everyone is very on top of things which has made the entire experience very pleasant.

I specifically wanted Dr. Jones to do my surgery because he was the doctor who spoke at both of the intro sessions I attended. I found him to be honest, direct and friendly. I could tell he had a lot of faith in the sleeve and I immediately had confidence in him. When I met with him personally he went over all of my surgical options and was very clear with me on my post-surgical expectations. I felt like he had a vested interest in me as a person which helped me feel relaxed and confident in the weeks before my surgery.

On the day of surgery he came by to speak with me before the operation and went over the details of the surgery with my mom, who was very concerned. He is very approachable and not in the least bit intimidating, which put my mom at ease. After surgery he went and spoke to my mom to let her know everything went great.

I didn't see him in my 2 days at the hospital, as he wasn't the surgeon on-call, but the nursing staff at the hospital was wonderful. I had the same nurses at each shift and they were very kind and accomodating. They were also very encouraging when I was getting up to take my walks!

The post-op follow up is fairly extensive, and consists of meeting with a bariatrician, nurse clinicians, and dieticians several times throughout the first year. The only thing I could say I am bummed about is that we don't get any face time with our surgeon after the surgery. It would be nice to meet with him again at least once.

Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Jones and the Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery program. Everything is very organized and structured. I never felt like I was lost in a sea of patients. They were on top of my appointments, my insurance approval, everything. My surgery went flawlessly and here I am less than 2 months later, 35 pounds lighter!

Great doctor/surgeon. He was very supportive and personable. I felt comfortable with him right away. He was also honest and up front which is a quality I think very highly of.

Dr. Thomas Jones is an incredible surgeon and his staff is great! They were all very personable, great bed side manner, sense of humor, attentive to your needs, and always there to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate Dr. Jones and his staff with a 11+.

Dr. Jones was friendly, professional, down to earth and very thorough when I saw him for my pre-surgery appointment. I had a list of questions for him and didn't have to ask him anything after he was done outlining the surgery and its affects; he coverered everything. Dorothy, his nurse, was attentive and had answers to a lot of my questions because she's "been there," having had Roux N Y herself.

Dr. Jones wasn't extremely specific about aftercare because most of that was covered in the many appointments with the bariatrition and the dietitian in the 12 months post surgery, but he did talk about how in the years following RNY I would have to be very diligent in my eating habits because it's easy to gain back a lot of weight a few years after surgery. It was a warning that I need to remember.

After Dr. Jones told me in detail about all aspects of the surgery, he said, "And now I have to talk about the risks of surgery. Frankly, for you, the biggest risk is to not have the surgery." Gulp. I remembered that whenever my fears took hold and I thought I was too scared to go through with it. But I did go through with it, and thanks to Dr. Jones and the team at Park Nicollett Bariatrics, a year later I am down nearly 100 lbs, am off all but one of my many medications, feel wonderful and have a bright, healthy future to look forward to!

Dr. Jones did a great job in surgery, had a wonderful bedside manner and I'm a walking testimonial to what bariatric surgery, when done expertly, can do. I'm 100% more healthy today than what I was a little more than a year ago (and I look a lot better too!).

Dr. Jones was fantastic! He showed interest in me as a person. I really liked him and he did a great job.

Dr Jones was a very pleasant and humble doctor. i was very pleased with him and how he made both my husband and i feel comfortable. He knows his surgeries and is very confident when he speaks of them. He gives you all the time you need with out rushing you. His staf is excellent and great at answering my questins and returning my calls. i hope I have good care at the hospital too. I would recommend him to everyone!!! :)
