Dr Bass is a really great Dr. He did my Mom's surgery and is doing mine. His office is really good and I've been to all the programs they offer.

I first saw Dr Bass on July 8,2011. This is the day I took charge and changed my life for the better. Dr Bass and I spoke at length about my dieting history, what surgery I was thinking about and his recommendations. I had gone in with bypass on my mind until we also discussed the sleeve gastrectomy. He thoroughly explained each surgery, and answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction! I started to lean toward the sleeve but my insurance wouldn't cover it so I stuck with my original idea. I did all my pre op requirements and had my surgery scheduled on 8/22/11 at Physicians Regional in Naples. After sugery I saw him when he released me and then in his office 2 weeks later. He encouraged me to call either himself or Tiffany at the office or on their cell phones (boy was I impressed I never had a doctor give me their cell phone number!!). In my opinion he is the best surgeon in southwest Florida!!!!
Dr Bass's staff, what can I say....
Tiffany... is just as incredible as Dr Bass!!!!
Amber... always makes me feel welcome, funny and is on top of everything!!!!
Missy.... supportive, compassionate, caring!!! My first time on the scale after surgery I teared up at the weight that I had lost, and she teared up with me!!!!
Marissa....GREAT nutritionist!!! She understands all the pitfalls, but remains encouraging and wonderful through it all!!!

I had surgery w/Dr. Bass on 8/22/11 and couldn't be any happier. Since then I've lost 40 lbs in a matter of a month...I LOVE MY SLEEVE!

But the experience I had getting to this point was really nice...The staff starting w/Tiffany, Amber & Missy were soooo sweet and nice at all times. Dr Bass always answered all my questions and has been such a respectful man. I am extremely happy w/my results so far and the way they treated me.

I highly recommend him and guarantee that you will be very happy at the end of it all:)

GREAT DR!

Dr. Bass and his staff have been AMAZING! They have gone above and beyond and truly care about me as the patient! This is a life changing experience and they help you all along the way. Tiffany his sife and coordinator is a gift from heaven! She is so kind and caring. Carol the insurance coordinator is ruthless and stops at nothing to get what she needs to get authorization!! When authorization was obtained she was just giddy for me! Amber his receptionist is a sweetie and always helpful. His support group was great too. I can't say enough about what they have done so far and look foward to completing this journey with
Dr. Bass and his staff!

I really like Dr. Bass. I have had to encounter many doctors over the years due to a vascular disease and I can assure you that Dr. Bass rates at the top. He and his staff are on top of things. From beginning to surgery day I didn't have to check and double check. They were always on time with paperwork, phone calls, and Dr. Bass even saw to it that I had a private room due to my suppressed immune system and they followed my vascular doctor's special orders for day of surgery and day after. Sometimes I had to call the office more than once, but I really don't recall being miffed about anything.
Tiffany is a God send! Many office managers and nurses are plain rude or haven't the time for your questions. Tiffany not only takes the time while you're in the office, but she also will research your question and send an answer via email! How awesome is that? Maybe it's the norm, but not what I'm used to that's for sure.
My time with Dr. Bass is quick. Tiffany answers many of the questions. Due to my weight, Dr. Bass suggested the sleeve, but my vasc doctors all said only the band. He respected that and said we'd make the band work. So far so good. I do feel rushed at times when in their office, but I know that if I need more time they will give it to me.
My follow up appts for the most part are fast. He answers my questions and gives me support as do his office team. Sometimes there's a longer wait than I'd like, but hey...it's better than most of my doc offices (but my rheumy is the best!!)
As far as surgery it was so easy. I thought I'd have complications due to my illness, but nothing. I was up and walking in recovery and he came to visit me that night and the next day before leaving (I had to stay overnight due to my insurance). The staff at Memorial in Hollywood were FABULOUS! I could go on and on about them. I wanted for nothing and when I did call them they were there within 3 minutes.

I adore Tiffany (his wife) and I'm so happy I found Dr. Bass and Tiffany.
If I had to give constructive critisism I would have to think hard about it. I guess a lack of patient days in my area is a little difficult, but other than that it's good. He works out of Hollywood, Naples, Bonita and Cape Coral. He's a busy man! I wish he had more time in my area (I'm selfish) :)
I think there could be more WLS meetings in Naples, but he is fairly new to our area, so I think it will take time to build up enough people to attend. it seems the bonita area has much more support in that area and it's too hard to drive up there at rush hour.
Thank you everyone at Dr. Bass' office both on the west and east coast! We don't have many WLS surgeons in SW, FL so I was so happy to find an experienced surgeon that cares about his patients!

REVISED: 2012
As time has gone on I'm not 100% confident in his office professionalism. I love Tiffany and Amber and Marissa (nutritionist) is aces. He did well with surgery, but he has no bed side manner. He is quick to judge the patient of error never dreaming his precious band can be at fault. EVen his wife understands the trials of the band and how difficult it can be in terms of not allowing solid food (which you're told to eat) to go down. I trust his skills as a surgeon, but I prefer a doctor that has a better approach to patients in after care.

Dr. Thomas Bass is very attentive, concern and straight to the point. His staff is wonderful and his wife Tiffany Bass(Bariatric Coordinator) is so nice and caring! I'm glad I decided to have my weight loss surgery done with Surgical Consultants of Hollywood.

First met Dr. Bass at a seminar for weight loss. Within a week, I made my first appointment with him and he was great. I am just at the beginning of this process, so more will follow.

Dr. Bass and Tiffany are the greatest. They were able to answer any and all questions I had. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bass's office.

Dr. Bass and his team were amazing. From the moment I started my journey, doing my research, and having my pre-op appointments, I have felt like my hand was being held. rnrnHis office staff is amazing, special love to Carol. rnHe had a great bedside manner, he made my Fiance and family feel comfortable and secure. Even in the most uncomfortable moments, (lets say it had something to do with drain removal) he smiled, joked around and made me feel that it was all ok. rnrnI would recommend him to anyone who is considering WLS. He is the whole package: comforting, knowledgeable, and likable.rnrn

Dr. Bass and his staff is awesome. Each visit they treated me with upmost respeact and always kind and helpful to make things much smoother for me as I completed the insurance process of requirements. Dr. Bass office is all about the patient well being and health. The office is designed to assure each and every patients, family member and visitor comfortness. Do know that Dr. Bass and his staff focus is on you as the patient. The office also provide the patient no matter what type of surgery you've had, the experience of the after care program so you're not alone including before meetings. The surgeons in this office are very honest and upfront about the pro's and cons of any major sugery. They held my hand during the insurance approval process and assured me that I'd done a great job on my end and they will take it from there. I can 100% say, I had a team of team players who focus were to help me achieve with success and no limits!!! When they recieve my approval, it was like a party in the office...a celebration! They all called me on speaker and it was the best feeling to hear all of the voices I had grown to known giving me the good news. I am so proud to have Dr. Bass and his team in my corner :)
