Dr. Val Andrei is one of New Jersey's most experienced bariatric surgeons, specializing in the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (including LapBand and Realize Band), Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Duodenal switch and revisional procedures. Dr. Andrei is founder of the Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery Program at St. Peter's University Hospital and previously served as Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He currently is in private practice and has performed more than 2000 laparoscopic weight loss procedures. In addition to Dr. Andrei's clinical work, he is committed to serving the community. He sponsors an inner-city youth group, as well as a basketball tournament focused on increasing physical activity in children, while giving them a safe place to socialize.

Dr. Andrei is a member of The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is a designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence surgeon.
