My first impression of Dr. Manigat was confusing. He was hard to understand as he had a thick accent. The wait in his reception area was incredibly long but when I got to know Dr. Manigat and understand him, the wait was well worth it. The staff were pleasant and accomadating, except for one assistant who was a little inexperienced, it seemed, in directing patients and doctor back into the exam room. She seemed a little slow to answer questions and not very knowlegeable. If you're wondering about the long term affects of the surgery, it's been almost 5 years now and I have maintained almost 130 pound weight loss. At one point, I had gotten down to 98 lbs. from 240 lbs. and that was too skinny for me. Imagine that, me saying I was too skinny. At the 3 year mark, I gained about 15 pounds which I read was a normal percentage of weight lost. Since that time, I have lost 17 pounds and am now down to 107 lbs. which is a good weight for me. So, all in all, Dr. Manigat did his job well. His aftercare was a year of nutrition visit, office visit followups, etc. The only thing that happened to me as a result of the surgery was that I got a wound infection at the original site of the laparoscope. Dr. Manigat drained it, packed it, and in a week, it was healed up.

Dr. Manigat's aftercare was very structured but I had a hard time keeping the nutritionist's appointments. I did see him in follow up when I was scheduled. He addressed the risks of surgery in his office before giving me a surgery date. He had me sign a paper stating that if he could not get in with the laparscope then he would have to do an incision in the middle of my stomach. I was so against this, but Dr. Manigat said he could not do the surgery if I didn't sign this paper. So, I signed it and said a prayer. Fortunately, he was able to do it laparascopically. I would rate Dr. Manigat as excellent in surgical competence and bedside manner.

He was very professional as well as personable. My confidence and impression of him increased over time because he does not cut any corners. He is very serious about the health and condition of his patients, he takes just about all insurance plans and he is not in this for the money.rnrnI live in North Jersey and had to go all the way to Vorhees, New Jersey for Dr. Manigat and I am happy I did, I recomend him to anyone who is considering this surgery.

Meeting with Dr. Manigat for the first time as a group and then individually was a great experience. While in the group session he was very knowledgeable about the different procedures that he performed. Yes he emphasizes the aftercare program very much. He just explains everything in detail and is very much confident in what he tells you. After sitting with him on a one-on-one session he changed my mind convincing me to have RNY instead of Lap-Band thats how much he impressed me. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that his office staff kind of made s do all of the work as far as calling the insurance company and all of that. I didn't feel that was something we should be doing. Overall I would recommend Dr. Manigat to anyone. I hope to have my surgery 12/26/2007.

When I first met Dr. Manigat I only go to see him for a few minutes but it was an informational packed few. I felt he was a very busy surgeon. but qualified. I feel bariatric surgery is taking over his office and the office staff is extremely busy and overwhelmed at times but they are also extremely friendly, hardworking and there for you. You may have to deal with schedule changes and waiting for return phone calls, but this is a small office, not a Bariatric Center like other doctors. I was honest with them and talked to them about some things that troubled me and they worked it out without complaints or denial. I can't say a thing I don't like. When I had my pre-op surgical visit with Dr. Manigat he was so informative, knowledgeable, funny, personable and very reassuring of how he will take care of me. He is EXCELLENT and anyone who uses him will see that. Yes, the office isn't a well oiled machine, but it works. Be patient. He is worth the wait and time. I had no pain, no complications, no discomforts - NOTHING. I can't say enough about how the Lourdes, the staff, the Doctor treated me before and after. I am the road now to a healthier life and it is all due to Dr. Manigat and is great staff. THANK YOU!!!!!

I'VE FOUND A NEW SURGEON! rnrnI thought dr. Brader was an awesome dr, and couldn't wait to have him do my surgery, however, he's no long with Barix, and I was INCREDIBLY disappointed. rnrnI think things happen for a reason... I found Dr. Manigat through OH, and met with him on 8/27/07 and I really liked what I'd heard. He's straight and to the point. He knows his stuff, and is a strict dr. This is exactly what I needed after dealing with Barix! I look forward to my journey with Dr. Manigat!

I cant tell you how pleased I ma with this doctor...he is so smart especially in rny. His office staff is excellent...very helpful...very caring and encouraging....This dr requirers that you pay a fee to have continued support post op...1,650.00 to be exact..but it is money well spent...it pays for follow ups and nutritional appts for the first year....If anyone is considering this surgery Dr. Manigat is the surgeon to look into! If I had to pick a negative thing to say I would say he is a bit difficult to understand..he has a strong accent.

Dr. Manigat is excellent and so is his staff. They go above and beyond when it comes to patient care. I felt really really cared about at all times. Weither it was a nutrition class or just doing paperwork. I would highly reccommend echelon bariatric to anyone.
