Miguel Montalvo, MD is a leading, board-certified bariatric surgeon practicing in Tijuana, Mexico at the Mexico Bariatric Center®. He graduated with a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Baja California State University and completed an internship as a Surgery Assistant of the esteemed Dr. Elias Ortiz. He was a resident surgeon of general surgery at Tijuana Social Security Mexican Institute and went on to receive specialized training in the very latest of bariatric surgical techniques and technology. He is the recipient of multiple certifications, recognitions, and awards.

Certified by the Mexican Council of General Surgery, Dr. Montalvo is a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), Mexican Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MSMBS), the General Surgery Mexican Association, XXXVI International Congress of General Surgeons, the Tijuana General Surgeons College and was a surgery instructor at Xochicalco University.
