Surgical Weight Loss Program at Hartford Hospital

Darren Tishler, MD, performed the first minimally invasive procedure for weight
loss at Hartford Hospital in January 2005. Dr. Tishler joined Connecticut Surgical
Group (CSG), the surgical practice affiliated with Hartford Hospital, in August
2004, and is a Board-Certified and fellowship-trained laparoscopic surgeon. He leads the comprehensive surgical weight loss program that is a joint venture of Hartford Hospital and CSG.

Nina Arnold, RN, MPH, is Bariatric Nurse Coordinator for the program. She has a keen interest in health promotion and disease prevention. She is the co-event leader for the Walk from Obesity in CT held annually in Madison.

We offer the Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and the Lap-Band procedure as well as multiple services from physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals dedicated to providing technologically advanced, compassionate, and safe surgical treatment for morbid obesity. Services include insightful monthly support group meetings, a group web page and access to 24-hour care and support.
