SRMC specially trained a staff to treat WLS patients. We were on one floor of the tower and never had to worry about anything thanks to the wonderful nurses and assistants working there. I couldn't have asked for a better stay in the hospital.

Dr. Ross is one of the best doctors I've ever had to treat me. He's very careful, considerate, and conscientious about his patients, and his honesty regarding this surgery didn't go unappreciated with me. Unlike so many docs these days, he never rushed me in the exam room. He stayed for as long as it took to address all my questions and concerns, and he never slacked in his dedication to my treatment. Dr. Ross' knowledge of the surgery is incredible and I couldn't have asked for a better bedside manner. On top of all this, Dr. Ross has a wry sense of humour, which I deeply appreciate. I find it easy to laugh with him...and I never have done that with a doctor before.

His staff is absolutely the best as well, especially Angie, who's patience and assistance during the insurance approval period will never go unforgotten or unappreciated by me.

The aftercare program Dr. Ross has in place is top-knotch. His coordination staff, Dianne and Norma, oversee a monthly support group meeting that is always educational, enlightening, and inspiring. The meetings are mandatory because Dr. Ross and his staff are determined to make their patients as informed and healthy as is humanly possible. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or any better people with whom to have shared it.

Dr. Ross is an excellent doctor. My first impression of him was that he was very knowledgeable, understanding, and friendly. He takes a very conservative approach to this surgery and I feel very safe under his medical care. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Ross took his time with me and answered all of my questions and was very patient with me when he took out my drains (Ouch!). He has an aftercare program which includes a monthly support group meeting. I will attend the first meeting next Tuesday. Both his surgerical comptetence and bedside manner are great and I highly recommend him to anyone interested in this surgery!

Everyone was wonderful! They were sensitive to all of my needs and responded promptly to my calls to the desk. They also were quick to administer pain medicine when I requested. The nurses were especially kind and astute and Dr. Ross came in everyday and seemed to know exactly what had happened the previous day. I think they have excellent communication between Dr. Ross and the nursing staff on 6tower. Also, the nursing assistants (PCT's) were friendly and helpful. The dietary, transport, radiology, housekeeping, and surgery folks also deserve recognition for being kind, patient, and knowledgeable.

The staff was wonderful. The only thing I would change is if they would allow you to pick what you wanted in clear liquids. Wether you want beef or chicken broth and what flavor of Isopure

I was so impressed with Dr. Ross. He took his time to explain everything. No matter how many times we ask the same question. I met Dr. Ross at his seminar and there he also took his time to expalin everything in detail. I had not decided what surgeon to use unitil I met with Dr. Ross in his office. At that point I knew he wasn't only a good doctor he was also a good man. I would recomend hi to anyone considering having the surgery.

Dr. Paul Ross is one of the most caring and senstive men I know. He truly cares about his paitents and makes sure they know that he is there for him. I went to the first community lecture they had and even in a group setting he was personable and was willing to stay afterwards and answer any questions people may have had. He made everyone there feel like they were the most important person there.

He is extremely personable and professional. His staff is also kind and supportive. They had a problem in the middle of me getting approved when a key person had a car wreck and was out of the office for a long period of time. Even tho the other office staff were already working their normal jobs they picked up and helped get everything going and did it plesantly and professionally.

Dr. Ross does emphasize aftercare and does have an after surgery care program but since I'm pre-op and haven't had my pre-op visit I'm not sure what it is but I know it is a long one.

He did a fabulous job and a very HONEST job of addressing the risk. He also told me how they would address any problems that came up.

He is extremely compentant and has a great bedside manner.

I'd rate him a 10 in both instances. Every paitent I've talked to of his thinks he's the greatest.

Though the program at SRMC is a new one, it seems to be well structured and planned. Having a co-ordinator who has been through the surgery herself is a definite plus for the program.

I have just met with Dr. Ross on April 3,2003. He seemed to be one of the most caring and compassionate Doctor's I have ever had the privildge of knowing. He was very interested in my past history as well as my present. He was very attentative and most importantly, concerned about my after care. Not only my physical well being but my mental well being as well. He has no problem consulting with my other Physicans on any matters that concern me and is very happy in doing so. He addressed every concern I had and then some. He has greatly informed me, not only from himself but by a registered nurse who has had the gastric by pass done in the last year. He is the head of this program at Spartanburg Regional{to my understanding} and he initiated it as well. I would HIGHLY recommed him to anyone. After my surgery I will post my overall view of the aftercare. Angie Williams

Dr. Ross came across at the community seminar as a very kind and compassionate man who really cares about his patients. As I have gotten to know him better, I am even more impressed by his expertise and his people skills. He made me completely comfortable and confident in my decision, the procedure and his skills. Everyone I dealt with in his office has been kind and sensitive to my feelings. Dr. Ross has been so patient and has answered every question I've had. He kept me updated on what to expect, what was going on... He called me personally to check on me preop and introduced one of his partners to me who would be on call today, while he was at another hospital 30 minutes away. But, he assured me he could be reached and could come right back if needed. He has made this surgery into the best one I've ever had. No surgery is fun, but I had no fear when I entered the OR due to his reassurances and confidence in me, his staff and his own training. I highly recommend this surgeon.
