About Me

Dr. Zachary, a world-renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has a special interest in body contouring after weight-loss surgery for morbid obesity, is the Medical Director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Program at Weiss Memorial Hospital and is Associate Professor of Surgery at The University of Chicago.

Because of his interest in meeting the unique needs of the individual who has had weight loss surgery, Dr. Zachary developed the first post-op bariatric and reconstructive surgery support group in the Chicago area and attends every meeting. This new support group helps to address patient concerns with up-to-date information with trained professionals in their fields, along with patient-to patient interaction.

According to Dr. Zachary in the reconstructive surgery and body-contouring field, new and innovative techniques are being developed for the post weight-loss-surgery patients who want to rid themselves of the extra skin that is left after losing 50, 100 or more pounds.
