  • About Me

    Shawn Hondorp (formerly Katterman), PhD, ABPP, is a board certified clinical health psychologist who works in the Bariatric Surgery and Preventive Cardiology departments at Spectrum Health System in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Hondorp earned her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She completed a predoctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in clinical health psychology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

    Dr. Hondorp’s interests include cognitive-behavioral therapy for weight management, stress-related eating, binge eating, anxiety and depression. She works with individuals who take operative (i.e., bariatric surgery) and non-operative approaches to weight management. She also works with many individuals with a variety of different medical diagnoses (e.g., heart disease). She is passionate about clinical work, research, and education related to helping people make and maintain a healthy lifestyle for the long-term.
