My funniest post-op moment just happened a few days ago. I decided that I needed to go to Walmart to pick up a few things. I put on a pair of Capris that I hadn’t worn since last year. So, I get on the bus and head to Walmart. As I’m walking around the store I noticed that I have to keep tugging my pants up. I was very tempted to just buy a new pair and change, and then finish my shopping but I decided against that. I finished up my shopping and went out to catch the bus to go home. I had several bags that required both of my hands to carry them.

I always get off the bus a few blocks from my house and walk home. As I was walking home, my Capris kept creeping down, and I would stop, put my bags down and yank them back up. Well, I picked up my pace so that I could get home and get out of them and into something that fit. Needless to say that was a huge mistake. I was about half a block away when my pants fell just below my butt! Of course, there had to be two cars going by at that time (one in each direction). Imagine my embarrassment! It’s a good thing I had on pretty underwear that day. I will tell you that those capris that I was wearing went into the donate pile!-dakotasgirl2006

The day after surgery, my hubby suggested that we go for a walk at the mall near our home. I could tell he had a special plan for something, but I couldn’t tell what. After about 20 minutes, I was starting to get a bit tired, so I asked him if we could sit down for a bit on a bench. After sitting, I started feeling gas roll around and I thought, “Oh great! “ You can see where this is heading, right? So, after the feeling passed, or as my husband calls it, “recycled” into my belly, we started walking again, and he said, “Let’s go to Build a Bear!” I thought, “WHAT? My manly hubby wants to go to Build a Bear? So he makes me a stuffed dog with a Band-Aid that went on it’s belly and it had frilly underwear (to show that it was a girl) and its name was Patches. While I was waiting for the girl to finish up my dog, I had a sneeze coming on. “OHHH HEAALL NOOO!” I was thinking to myself. Sure enough, I sneezed a big one. And a big loud one also came out. Not far from the head of a little kid. I felt so bad! But I apologized and explained to the girl’s mommy that I just had surgery and it was just surgery air! I hope she believed it!-KellyAllen27
