Chimichurri sauce is used to marinate meats before they are cooked, or it is used to baste the meats while cooking. You can use it like that, but its real purpose is to be served with your cooked steaks. This is the best way to enjoy a great chimichurri sauce and steak without ruining any of the flavors of each!
The chimichurri sauce comes together quickly in the food processor and tastes great on a sirloin steak. Made from just a few pantry ingredients like red wine vinegar, garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and salt and pepper—plus some fresh herbs—this bright-green sauce from Argentina has an amazing depth of flavor and is absolutely delicious!
Petite Sirloin Steak With Chimichurri Sauce

- 4 petite sirloin steaks (4 oz. each)
- 1/8 cup coarsely chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 2 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 shallot, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 1 jalapeno
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper your steak.
- Grill or sauté in a pan until it has reached your preferred doneness.
- In a food processor, combine the parsley, cilantro, vinegar, garlic, jalapeno, salt, and pepper. Process until smooth.
- Mix the olive oil in and let stand for at least 20 minutes.
- Serve the sauce over the sliced meat.
