Maximizing Results, Maintaining Weight Loss & Overcoming Regain

We’ve brought together a group of Bariatric Surgeons to answer your questions! Stop by the Q&A panel to ask Dr. Adeyeri, Dr. Keshishian, Dr. Ortiz or Dr. Suh your questions about maximizing your WLS results, maintaining your weight loss or options on overcoming regain.

This will be an interactive session; our staff will bring the microphone to the audience so you can stand at your seat to ask your question of the panel member of your choice. The moderator and conference staff will help keep the Q&A moving so that we can try and get in as many questions as possible during the allotted time.

Meet the Panel

Q&A Panelist: Ayotunde Adeyeri, MD, FASMBS

Ayotunde Adeyeri, MD, FASMBS, is the Medical Director of Sterling Surgicare, with medical offices located in Holmdel, Old Bridge and Freehold, New Jersey. He is also Co-Medical Director and Partner at Central Jersey Bariatrics located in Freehold.

Dr. Adeyeri serves as Medical Director at The Institute for Weight Loss at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, NJ. He specializes in performing bariatric surgery procedures including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and lap band insertion and removal, revision surgery and duodenal switch (DS).

The doctor is a regular contributor to ObesityHelp and regional news publications in the metro New York City region. He has also appeared on television as a medical expert discussing issues related to weight management and obesity prevention.

Dr. Adeyeri completed his general surgery residency at Columbia University’s Harlem Hospital Center in New York City where he was appointed chief resident. At the University of Rochester, he completed post-doctoral training in minimally invasive and general surgery, specializing in bariatric surgery, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric banding, and revision surgery procedures.

Ayotunde Adeyeri, MD, FASMBS

Q&A Panelist: Dr. Ara Keshishian

Dr. Ara Keshishian completed his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from USC. After finishing Medical School at AUC, he completed a General Surgical Residency in Michigan and has over 15 years experience with the revision of complex weight loss surgical procedures.

Dr. Keshishian has numerous publications and has chaired as Chief of Surgery, Critical Care, and Medical Ethics committees, as well as Director of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery.

Dr. Keshishian has performed more than 2000 Duodenal Switch procedures and more than 500 revisions from other weight loss surgeries, such as Gastric Bypass, Adjustable Gastric Band, and Sleeve Gastrectomy to Duodenal Switch over the past 17 years of private practice.

Dr. Keshishian understands that no two situations, health status or lifestyles are the same. He would prefer to help you understand the extent of your particular case, and how different surgical options may have more benefits than others. If you have questions, he is glad to answer them and help you understand your options.

Dr. Ara Keshishian

Q&A Panelist: Dr. Elias Ortiz

Dr. Ortiz has over 10 years experience in bariatric surgery. He has performed over 7,000 bariatric surgeries (including the Lap Band surgery, Gastric Bypass Surgery, Mini Bypass, the Gastric Sleeve, Duodenal Switch and Gastric Sleeve Plication). Dr. Ortiz is certified in the Allergan gastric band (one of only 2 FDA approved gastric bands) as well as certified in the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Bypass, and Duodenal Switch. He currently focuses mainly on the Vertical Sleeve and Gastric Bypass.

Dr. Ortiz earned his medical degree at Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Baja California in 2004. Dr. Ortiz received extensive training in Endoscopic Surgery and Obesity Surgery. He is accredited by the American College of Surgeons, in Tijuana BC Mexico. Dr. Ortiz is often an invited speaker on the subject of weight loss surgery as well as other topics. Dr. Ortiz has also published his work in medical journals. Dr. Ortiz holds memberships in several prominent medical organizations in Mexico.

This is only a small sampling of a long list of Dr. Ortiz’s credentials and expertise. Dr. Ortiz says he enjoys changing the lives of his patients and seeing them regain their health. He considers it an honor when a patient puts their trust in him and he always wants to provide the best treatment possible to all his patients. Dr. Ortiz believes he has the best most advanced bariatric team available today in Tijuana. He says he is very proud of his team and would feel comfortable putting his life in their hands just as his patients do.

Dr. Elias Ortiz

Q&A Panelist: Dr. David Suh

Dr. David Suh is a prominent, board certified, bariatric surgeon practicing in Southern California since 2001. Over the past 16 years, he has performed over 7,000 laparoscopic bariatric procedures including Gastric Bypass/RNY, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Banding, and revisions.

He received his undergraduate degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and completed medical school, internship, residency, and Fellowship, in Biliopancreatic and Bariatric Surgery, all at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Dr. Suh is an expert in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical techniques and has been a preceptor to surgeons from India, Australia, Korea and across the United States, welcoming them into the operating room to observe his surgical skills and innovative techniques in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.

His motto “make IT (surgery) safe, make IT effective” is reflective of his passion for bariatric surgery along with his commitment to the success of each individual patient.
