I'm in the beginning stages of researching for the Lap Band and the Gastric Sleeve. I have questions about going into this: Cost, surgeon, and how quick was one to notice weight loss after having either the lap band or gastric sleeve. How long does it take to get the procedure done once one has made up their mind? Thank you!

I researched the different types of surgery for about 4-5 months before I decided. I went to a seminar given by the surgeon and hospital I was planning to use. I visited with my surgeon, gave him my goals and went with his advise. I decided on the sleeve because of some advantages. However your Doctor would be the best to advise you on what procedure is for you. Once I made up my mind I had the procedure done within 3 weeks. I am now 5 weeks out from surgery. I have lost 26 lbs. and am doing okay. Portion control is much easier to stick with and sweets were my downfall and I don't seem to crave sweets as much as before the surgery.
