For all of us who had surgery in September.. I have a poll for us:

1. Do you regret having your surgery (whether it was band, RNY, etc) ?
2. Are you happy with your decision?
3. Best part so far?
4. Worst part so far?
5. Best advice you received prior to surgery?
6. Something you wish you were made aware of prior to surgery?

Would love to see what you guys have to say!

Hi Kaila D-Here are my responses to your poll:

1.  No regrets (as of yet!)
2.  Yes!
3.  I have lost 26 lbs (since 8/29-whi*****ludes the 2 wk liquid diet & since RNY on 9/12)
4.  Lack of sleep!  I will be so glad when I can sleep on my tummy again!
5.  Best advise-follow instructions given by surgeon & staff.
6.  Nothing I can think of ...with me sometimes ignorance is bliss!  I don't always want to know the gory details of what is going to happen til after it's over!

1.  No regrets as of yet!
2.  I am very happy with my decision.
3.  The best part for me so far is that I lost 42 lbs since September 5th, whi*****ludes my 2 week liquid diet.  Had surgery on the 19th.
4.  Worst part for far is a tie between, broken nights of sleep and this awful breast pain.
5.  I received so much helpful information prior to surgery it is to hard to pick just one thing.
6.  Something I wish I was made aware of prior to surgery was this awful breast pain that I have!

wow ! 42 lbs-that's great! I'm not sleeping great either-I might sleep from 10 until 2 or 4 if I'm lucky then I have to go downstairs and doze in the recliner or on the couch for a while. Grrr-I hate that. I don't do well without my good sleep! Makes me grumpy.

I know I hate it too!  Wonder what causes that?  I'm going back to work on Monday so that should be really fun!
I can't sleep on my stomach yet...maybe when I can that will help. (I hope!)

Good luck-hope your weight falls off quickly like it has been & that your pain goes away.  I haven't had any breast pain-mine has just been on my right side-like a real sharp "pinching" when I get up from bed or turn too far.

 1. No regrets--I am making life changes that have been a long time in coming!
2.  Very Happy with the decision.  Don't know exactly how much I've lost so far, but it's at least 30 pounds from my heaviest point.
3.  Best part is not having to worry about what I will eat next, or whether it will be enough for me.
4.  Some fatigue and lingering aches and pains, but it's all getting better!
5.  Best advice--follow the doctor's plans exactly and to the letter!
6.  Wish I would have done this sooner!

1) Not at all, I had VSG
2) I am!
3) I'm proud of myself.  I went through this basically alone (my husband is deployed) with 3 kids.  I'm superwoman!
4) I had an open procedure and I'm still sore when bending over
5) Walk, sip, walk, sip, walk, sip
6) That I wouldn't be able to reach into the washing machine.  LOL!  I didn't think that part through.
