Denied - First time....

Typical Cigna HMO bureaucratic BS....in the process of regrouping to fight back....I think instead of individualizing one's medical needs they have rubber stamped all WLS as DENIED!!!!!

Donna, what reasons did they give for denying your surgery? I'm curious, for selfish reasons, of course, since Blackstone's office is going to be submitting my stuff to CIGNA shortly as soon as I work out this issue that came up about the psych eval. Did you have a documented 26-week weight loss program during the last 6 months? Documentation of a medical necessity issue? BMI of 40 or more for a long time? .... concerned for you and me both, Patti in Tucson
