 Hi there,

I moved to BC recently from another country, and I do not have a primary doctor. I have been looking for a good one for a while now, but it is really hard to find one that will take new patients.

I have been overweight since I was 11 and it is getting progressively worse. I went on a diet back in 08 and got to a good weight, but i have since took it all back in + about 50lbs more.

I was wondering if it is possible to get a referral from a walk-in clinic doctor? that is what I have been using right now since i dont have a P.doc.

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

How have you been looking? Have you tried the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC? They update it regularly so you know who is accepting new patients in your area. That's how I found mine a few months ago :) Here's a link to the search -- https://www.cpsbc.ca/node/263

I have always delt with my walk in clinic near my house as my 'family doctor', I got all my referral and tests done through them.
