Need advice on LA Care insurance *again*

Hi I am a LA Care participant and in the mist of going for the sleeve. Well I tried to get an authorization to USC Keck from my Dr but the insurances denied it, one of the reason was because I need weight management. Well my Dr didn't know and neither did the coordinator so I called the ins that denied it and apparently he wasn't medically clear to answer that. So next week I will ask again but in the meantime to ease my mind does anyone in here with my same insurance thru Medi-Cal know what the insurance requires for weight management? Thanks
