What did everyone do for the 4th?
Oh, I had an absolutely wonderful day! I had been busy all week cooking for and planning a baby shower, and was really ready for a day of plain old fun. I live in a small, Lake Michigan beach town that folks flock to in the summer, so the town was crawling with people! DH's parents live just a few blocks from the beach in a big ol' Victorian. They had a party on their front porch, and we sat on there part of the afternoon and devoured all of the leftover food from the shower the day before and jus****ched the town go by. Everybody knows my in-laws, so people stopped to linger and visit on the porch, and it was just so....old-fashioned and small-townish. We then walked the one block to the parade, watched that, then went to the American Legion and drank ourselves rather silly. After a late afternoon nap, we walked to the beach and out to the breakwall and I sat in my DH's arms and watched a spectacular fireworks display. On an added note, it was just one year ago that I thought I might be falling in love with my now DH. We had gone out on the boat with his family and he was so proud of me, so gentlemanly and sweet, that I thought to myself...."This guy's really a keeper." So, this was a super special 4th for me!

I spent the day bbqing burgers-dogs and carne asada with my kids and little grandbabies. We went to the lake for the afternoon and Zaryn played all day long in the sand! What a little angel he is...Kiah slept most of the day (6 weeks old)
. After dark we went and watched the local Fireworks display that scared the jeepers out of Zaryn!!! Poor little guy. All in all it was a wonderful day!
