1 year later = 157 lbs, 9 dress sizes down
I am celebrating my surgiversary today. 1 year post DS and I find myself half the person I used to be. Literally!!! I weigh 163lbs as of this morning - down from a very heavy 320.
I sometimes cannot believe what a difference a year makes. I was so miserable a year ago. Having put on 100 pounds on top of my overweight 220lb body, I no longer recognized myself when I looked in the mirror. I had a difficult time moving around or walking my dogs. I fit very uncomfortably into the chairs in the movie theatre or at outdoor parties. I felt like Jabba the Hut. 1 year later has brought so many WoWs and so much to be grateful for. I found myself again and found that life is wonderful.
I know I will sound like a repeat of what I have read so many times on the board, but it is so true I will say it again. I LOVE MY DS. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
Thank you all for participating in this board. I am not a big poster here, but I am an avid reader. Your comments and posts helped me to choose this surgery, find a surgeon, work thru difficulties during my recovery and monitor my health. I will do my best to pay this forward over the next several years by chiming in for new members and offering aid/knowledge to others.

What a great post. I never get tired of reading anyones surgiversay. The DS is such a powerful surgery, I love hearing how it changes everyones life. Everyone always says how their only regret is not having the surgery sooner, I said it too. Congratulations on your Wonderful Journey so far. But hold on your still going on a wild ride.
