Thinking about revising from VSG to DS.

Ok, this will be my 3rd WLS. I have started seeing a Therapist and she is going to help me with my issues (eating carbs, lack of exercise, depression). I'm also going to look into getting an appointment to see a doctor about Hormone balances, yes I'm in Menopause.
How has it been for you who had the VSG and revised to DS? Any regrets?
Thanks!

Hi. I'm a revision from a VSG to a DS. I had my VSG in 2003. Eight years later I was 50 pounds heavier than when I had the surgery!!! Not good. I was "switched" 3 1/2 months ago. I won't lie: the weight is coming off much slower than I'd hoped, but it is coming off. I'm 54, so I think age has something to do with it as well. Plus I am having trouble getting motivated to do any exercising. Still, I have gone down from a 3X to XL on top and from a 3x/SIZE 24 to size 20 on the bottom, so I'm certainly not complaining!! I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had my VSG in 2009. I'm going to see if BCBS Federal will cover it. You are doing great. I need to get motivated to exercise. It's been really hot over here in OK to go walking.
Thanks so much for your reply.

Is Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal going to cover your DS? I could really lose 40 - 50 lbs that would be great. 135 - 145 lbs for my height would be acceptable. I would be elated.
If you have an obesity-related comorbidty, then your BMI can be 35 and qualify for a WLS. At your height, you would have to weigh 185, which is exactly what I think your ticker is stating. If you do not have an obesity-related comorbidity, then your BMI has to be 40 (about 215 pounds) to qualify for any type of WLS.
