*I had a ****ty birthday experience and ever since then (Monday) I have let the carb monster into my life with open arms. What happend was, my family did not buy me my traditional ice cream birthday cake because they food-policed me. They didn't get me a cake, period. Ever since then, I've been subconsciously rebelling and eating anything I friggin' want. They don't realize that they did WAY more harm than good. I hate it and I'm ashamed of it but I want to be honest to you guys. Tomorrow will be better than today.
What I told my family for birthdays was that food wasn't important to me and I'd rather go out and do something. My first birthday after WLS my youngest son took me to the bowling ally and we bowled 4 or 5 games. The second, we went out and played putt-putt. I still have to remind them that I don't care to race with them or see who can eat the most at a restaurant any more, so they need to get creative. It doesn't seem to work, but at least they know that's not what I want to do for every special occasion.

Been MIA lately, last minute summer fun with kids before they go back to school in 28 days Yes I am doing the happy dance. If I hear "i'm bored" one more time I am gonna eat a bucket of carbs! LOL!
