Hi everyone, June 30th will be my 9th year journey on this DS path. One of the best decision I have ever made for myself. It has allowed me to enjoy me, and LIFE a little bit better. My body lost all the weight I think it was best for my body, which was app 120lbs. But unfortunately I have gained and I wish I would have lost more in the beginning, but still look good. But in my opinion would not Have looked so good off me. But you know how we are when we look at the scale. Sometimes we would prefer the number on the scale to look less regardless if it does not look that great off us.

However, I want to know have anyone lost 10 pounds or more being 5 to 10 plus years out? If so please share how you lost the weight and how long did it take. I would love to lose 10 pounds in 30 days.

Thank you.

I go up and down all the time. Losing is possible. Just go under 20 carbs a day and up your activity level. I am always trying to lose another 10 and it can be done. I am almost 17 years out.

The sad truth is I do lose better/more if I give up diet soda. But I am not willing to do that very often! I still drink diet soda every day!

At my lowest, I didnt look very vivacious, according to others. Regaining 15 lbs filled my drawn facial features back up, then the next 10 lbs made me look normal, even though I'm officially overweight by the BMI charts. I'm comfortable as a size 8-10 right now. I'm not perfect, but I'm maintaining this comfortable spot with no effort at all.

Hi Sunshine.

I am 11 yrs post op. Lost over 100 total. I regained about 25 lbs in the last 2 years. I started a month ago cutting out all unnecessary carbs. Keep it between 20-30 grms per day. I am starting to lose again. My goal is to get back to my lowest post op. But honestly any small amount is very noticeable on me. So I may not need to go back to 161. I did get a lot of comments back then that I looked unhealthy. I think people were so use to me being almost 300 lbs.

Yes, last year I was able to lose just about 10-15 pounds and have kept it off (I'm just past 16 years post-op).

It probably took me a couple of months of slow and steady "back to basics" -- low carb, high protein, lots of water.

I was already eating lots of protein, so to drop the additional poundage I focused on cutting back the carbs. Not counting carbs per se, just consciously cutting out the late-night sugar treats (cookies, ice cream, etc.), less rice and pasta. Those are probably my three biggest pitfalls.

It absolutely can be done!

Extremely encouraging and helpful. When you are trying to lose weight how much protein daily do you try to intake?
