Wednesday Roll Call

Good Morning, 

I have been up fpr a while, have one load of wash in the dryer, bed made, a load of dishes washed, dryed and put away, and all this before I go to work!

It is hump day, the week is 1/2 over, or 1/2 way to the weekend.

Nothing going on in my world today. What about yours?

Hello everyone

Hump day is here.  I have to admit the week is going by pretty fast for me. 

Last night at 3am I heard a loud crash coming from out side.  It didn't occur to me when I was half asleep to check to see if someone crashed into one of the cars in the parking lot.  I woke up this morning thinking I better go check.  I did and everything was fine.  I wonder what that noise was???

Yesterday, I had someone be outwardly rude about my Lapband at work.  A lady I don't know very well was complimenting me on how well I'm doing with my weight loss and she asked me how I did it.  I started telling her about my workouts (because I'm excited about my new found knowledge on the subject).  It wasn't like I was hiding the fact that I had WLS I just think the biggest factor right now in my weight loss is my workouts...before I started working out I was at a stand still.  Then I started to workout and the weight started coming off.  So in my mind it's the workouts that are working for me.  So I was telling this lady about my workouts and this really cranky lady (I hate her) came from behind me and says "she loses weight because she had gastric bypass".  I turned around and said "first of all I didn't have gastric bypass I had gastric banding, two very different surgeries.  which you would know if you knew anything about the subject.  and second of all I guess the 10 hours a week I workout has nothing what so ever to do with my weight loss...ya it's all because I have the band.  I might as well stop working out right now because it's my Band that does it all for me!!!"  Hahaha I jumped all over her and I was being really loud.  She walked away with a big pout on her face.  I had 5 people come up to me after that and said she was out of line and good for me for sticking up for myself.  And the people I work out with were fuming because they see first hand how hard I work!!!

Good morning,

Crystal-good for you.  When people tell me that these procedures are the "easy" way out, I just want to strangle them!  They have no idea what we go through and how hard we still need to work!

Lisa-I'm jealous.  I slept in today since I'm working from home today so I'm just getting going today.  So I have not done anything yet! 

Charlie really does have another eye infection so off to the vet we go today.  Another $100 I'm sure! 

I have to test all the computers I use for a class today.  And go through a big pile of stuff a co-worker dropped off while I was out.  That will take all day!  My husband and I are meeting some co-workers for dinner tonight.  That will be nice.

I took off the vac last night.  My skin is super irritated and my wound gets these sharp pains from the sponge sticking to the wound and then I have to peel it off when the nurse comes.  I just had enough.  I thought my nurse would be here today at 830 (like she always is) but is not coming.  Another nurse (who did not do a good job last time she came) was going to come at 1pm.  I declined.  I will just keep it clean and filled with gauze since I see Dr. Kane tomorrow and would have taken the vac off tomorrow morning anyways. 

Well, I need to boot up my computer and enter my time in for the week before the cutoff and we need to leave for the vet.

Good afternoon Lisa and the rest of Illinois!

I am working, then off to the theater to clean for the performances this weekend.  I live such an exciting life.  At least I finished painting the stone wall I have been working on all week.

Crystal---good for you!  You ARE working very, very hard and deserve credit.

Olivia was accepted into the marine biology summer program at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington!  I am very excited for her!  We are scrimping all our pennies to help pay for this opportunity.  I told Todd that it is only fair, since David has gotten to do some amazing things the past few summers.  Besides, this is her chosen field and the 2 week program will help her determine if that is really what she wants.  The only thing that will make me nervous is putting her on a plane by herself.  We now have to decide exactly WHEN she is going.

How awesome!!!  You should have a bake sale to raise money.  I'm sure you make yummy stuff.  And your community sounds like a close knit community I'm sure they would want to buy some treats.

It is my Friday today and I was sure ready to get the heck out of dodge!  Actually today was better than the last two days.  Monday and Tuesday were horrible.  I think they passed out nasty pills to everyone calling in.  I had one person report me to my supervisor because I asked too many questions.  This lady was trying to do a return from last September and did not have an invoice number, the name of the person who placed the order, the address it was delivered to, a product number or any information but it was ME who asked too many questions and she was irritated that I could not help her.   All our calls were like that.  Everyone was ready to take a flying leap before the day ended.  Even the supervisors commented on how nasty the customers were being. 

Lisa, laundry being done sounds wonderful.  I have a pile to do tomorrow.  Crystal, I am glad you stood up for yourself.  You have every right to.  Jules, I hope that Charlie gets over his eye infection quickly.  Dawn, Liv will love Wilmington.  I will volunteer to go with her if she wants company.  I love that city.  It is beautiful!  I am so happy for her to have this opportunity!  

Tomorrow is my day to get everything done before going to the hospital and having surgery on Friday.

I would go with her, but we can't afford for us both to go.  I have heard it was beautiful.  She has three options.  June 19, July 10 or July 24.  Each for 2 weeks.
