Do clams Digest Very well
I made some clams on Sunday and only eat 2 before I realized they dont chew up very well, so then I chewed the rest about 4 and spit them out, I know gross, sorry but they were so good ! I cooked them in white wine, garlic and butter. But every since then I noticed that its a chore just eating my 4oz. and I could not finish my normal package of instant oatmeal this morning. I have had them in the past and it had not been a problem but I had a fill last Monday really it was a refill back to 2.5 which is what I was brought up to 6 weeks after my surgery. I had a fill a the end of May to 3.0 and it was too tight, so they took everything out to 1.5 and I remained that way for 5 weeks. - Maybe its the hot weather were having but I work in an air conditioned office. Wasnt sure so thought I would ask for Advise.

you may have them 'sitting' there waiting to work their way through.
Try getting some papaya tablets at the local health food store-they are chewables. The enzemes in them break down foods and that might help 'clean' you out??
You could also try some hot tea to see if that flushes things through?
I have found that I now treat mussels and clams like bubble gum (chew and spit) unless they are pre-minced they just don't chew up enough for me to feel I can risk it.
ALSO...I have come to believe that heat waves and humidity definately effect restriction.
