Meritain health of mn

I was wondering if anyone has meritan health insurance? If you do, do they cover lap band surgery.  My husband is going to be getting this insurance thru work in a month and I have never heard of this company but would like to get lap band done.  I am wondering how long it takes till you can get lap band approved and if its a hard process to get approved. I am the right bmi to get it done, I know that for sure.

I am in NY and have Meritain Health (w/ Aetna network).  My employer's plan does cover 1 WLS per lifetime.  I am actually at the stage where my paperwork has been submited and I'm waiting for approval.   Hopefully it'll come soon.  My surgery date of July 24th has already been set. I believe that it is up to the employer whether they are including WLS with the insurance, not directly Meritain Health.

Amy is correct.  It is usually up to the employer as to whether or not they exclude WLS.  Your husband should be able to find our from his HR people.  Good Luck.
