Today's NSV

I've had a very stressful week but I do have something positive to share - an NSV (non-scale-victory). I met someone new at a meeting today, a woman who doesn't know my bariatric history and who has lost about 200 lbs herself. [I don't know just how she did it. She's still big, but has a great attitude - kind of an "I'm a work in progress" approach.] We had lunch after the meeting and this very nice lady told me, "If I was as small as you are, I'd eat all day long." I told her I hadn't always been this small, and then the conversation went on to a different topic. Being perceived as very small, and/or as someone who could never have been obese, is still a novelty to me!

Wow- after all this time it still surprises you to be considered small?  It's amazing how our bodies can change, but our minds just can't keep up with it.  You are an inspiration and it's great to see you on the board again.

The gap between my actual and my mental body size is disconcerting at times, but in a way, that's OK, because I never want to forget how far I've come and can't afford to take my weight loss and smaller size for granted!

True.  I think part of my regain issue was taking my weight loss for granted.  Thought I could "splurge" AKA binge, and make up for it later and not gain weight.  Well that didn't work!  You are doing awesome!
