I regret having a vagotomy and would opt not to have one. The chance of ulcers is greater but you can get help for this. Having the vagus nerves cut is permanent. Most of the time there aren't any complications. I would say a majority of times. I would educate myself and ask in the message board/ library how many other surgeons do a vagotomy or if people have had complications. Good luck on what ever you chose. Congrats on your new journey. -Peace
