MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

Hello Members,

On a daily basis we get calls from members in desperate need of surgeons that will accept Medicaid and or Medicare for Bariatric surgery.  It breaks our hearts when we have to say "we don't know of any surgeons in your state we can refer you to". 

Can you please help us? If you know of any surgeons in your state that accepts Medicaid and or Medicare, will you list their:

If they accept Medicare and or Medicaid

I am from Manchester, NH and have Medicare. They will only pay for the surgery in an "A List Hospital". The closest one to me is Lahey Clinici in Burlington, MA. 55 minute drive from Manchester. Its a wonderful program. Medicaid in NH does not cover Lap Band surgery, only Gastric Bypass as of present.  There is a great Gastric Bypass program at Dartmouth Hitch**** Clinic in Manchester.

Just wondering if NH Medicaid will pay for LapBand yet?? This post was in June and although I doubt things have changed I figured I would ask as I have medicaid and my doc has said I should get either done but I'm thinking I prefer the LapBand. Any info on this or any GB programs throughout NH would be great. Dartmouth does have a great program but it is such a long wait to actually get surgery. Thanks

The Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Parkland Medical Center program is a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and it does accept Medicare -- but not Medicaid - patients for bariatric surgery. More details about the program can be found at http://ow.ly/2nw9v
