Splenda Brown Sugar
I was looking to buy this yesterday, but when I check the nutritional info, it said 1/2 tsp had 2g sugar - that's really alot for a sugar substitute, isn't it? Needless to say, I didn't buy it. Does this sound right to you?
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
That is correct. When I've used it in baking, I've only ever used a very small amount. Also, you only use 1/2 of what you would use of regular brown sugar.

Hi Megan,
I found a recipe online for protein muffins that called for splenda brown sugar blend and I was concerned for the same reasons. I found at Longo's that they had Sugar Twin brown sugar with no cals/sugar/etc. that measures equal for brown sugar. The texture is drier than brown sugar, but in the recipe I was using, it did the job. Hope that helps!
