NSV!

Today my 17 year old daughter got her G2 driver's license.  I was so proud of her...but in the past I would have taken her out to eat, or at least bought her a "treat" (like Dairy Queen).  Instead I told her she could take the rest of the day off school and we came home and watched a movie (her choice) together.

It was a nice feeling to not just automatically turn to food as a celebration!!!

What a wonderful way to celebrate and it is something she will always remember.  Nothing like spending time together.

That's a great NSV - shows you're definitely on the right track.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

That was a great choice on your part. She doesn't learn to reward with food and you spent time together. Good on ya!

I love this!  Good for you, setting a great example for non-food celebration!
