Can grouchy pouchy start at 3 months out?
I'm feeling similar to the way I felt at 5-6 weeks, where everything felt tight and unpleasant to eat, but then shortly after it all relaxed and I was fine. For the past week I'm feeling sort of like that again - no matter what I eat, I know it's there leaving me an unpleasant, but not painful, full feeling. Not really nauseous, but just feeling always like I've overdone it. Doesn't matter how much I eat, a spoonful will give me that feeling. Of course, that's not enough nutrition, so I eat what I normally would if I can, keeping things as soft as possible. Do things tighten up in there again around this time?
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
Im almost in the same boat.. I'm just under 3 months post op and now I'm noticing that I feel a lot fuller, quicker..I dont feel sick, and there is no pain.. just full.. I kind of just assumed it was the nerves coming back.. so now im getting more feeling in my pouch..I just slowed down some more.. and even though I measure out my food.. I will stop half way through and wait 5-10 mins and then if Im feeling full I'll just put it away and try again later.. but if i'm feeling okay I'll continue with my meal.. I find that when I do this I dont over do it and end up feeling really yucky!

Hi Megan
I'm almost 9 months out, and I remember going through that tight pouch / soreness business at 3 months as well. In fact, I was concerned that I might have a stricture, but I wasn't being sick so that didn't seem to be the issue. To make a long story short, I went back to primarily "slider food" - yogurt, chili, soups, shakes, stews, anything I could add protein powder to. I also changed my vitamins to liquid form. It passed after about a month, but I must admit I still am best with "wet" food, even at 9 months. That just seems to be how my pouch is!

Glad to know I'm not the only one - seems pretty common. So it's soup and softies for a little while until this passes. Thanks all.
