I guess I can really see it now!
Went out tonight looking for some deals on clothes. Found the cutest pair of pants in Penningtons - size 14, fit like a dream (except for the button in the waist). Unfortunately they were crop pants, so I didn't buy. But what I noticed was that I'm finally reallly seeing the loss - my legs looked downright thin in these pants. My hips didn't look massive. It's taken so long for me to see myself as much thinner than I was 5 months ago, and it was almost a shock to finally have my eyes catch up with the changes.
Was looking through some photos and found one of me taken at a winery the day before surgery, then I called up a pic taken by moi 2 days ago. Yep, the eyes have finally caught up - must have been seeing the before and now side by side. Must research how to get the pics from iPhoto into a message. My son, the Mac wiz, is visiting for Christmas, so I'll get him to help me with it and hopefully post before and afters soon (can't believe I have the confidence to do this!)
Anyway, tired now, need sleep before my 5-month appts tomorrow morning - 3 in a row. Will post results of that tomorrow.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
I still go there sometimes b/c Reitman's is right next door (Reitman's is my fave). I am just getting out of 16 pants, and just barely into XL tops. So I can still fit X tops at Pennington's, and the 14's as well. Perhaps I'm subconsciously having a little trouble letting go of the "big" stuff. Basically, I was just lookiing for cheap, cheap, cheap! But when I left Pennington's last night I actually thought, "I don't think I'll be back in here again. Goodbye Pennington's!"

I'm glad you're saying good bye to that place. I feel like they take advantage of obese women, because their clothing is really horrifically expensive (except when you get the good sales), but where else do you go?
I am NOT having trouble letting go of the big stuff. I hated every second and every dollar i spent in that place.
That being said, i'll feel responsible if it closes! I remember when a friend of mind quit drinking, months after that the Molson plant on Hwy 400 closed down, and he felt somewhat responsible for it(not really, just kidding, but the timing was hilarious)

Yes, i still wear my huge undies. However, i am replacing them with cute ones, as i throw out a couple, i buy a couple! It's not like i'm going to the huge underwear store anymore. lol
grumble grumble grumble......
besides, with a couple of safety pins at the shoulder, they make a nice sort of onesie.
