Thirsty!!!!!!!

Ok i am 1 week post op and in the last couple of days I am becoming sooooo thirsty like its driving my batty!!!

Anyone experience this - and yes I am sipping all the day and even a water bottle by my bed at night ..........

With all the sipping, how much are able to drink in a day?

If you want to check your hydration level, relax your and and gather up your skin on the back of your hand.  If it bounces back to position quickly, you are hydrated.  If it takes some time, then you are becoming dehydrated.  The nurse showed me this when I went in for bariatric surgery.

yeah, i know, it happens to me all the time, i just wanted to be sure estafonia had the right info. I knew you woudlnt get offended. :-)

Well I am 1 1/2 week out and I am drinking all day - and I did the hand test and I am fine!!!!

As soon as I wait my 30 min to drink after i eat that is when it's the worst but after I sip sip it's does subside but it really bugs me!
You know since I can't gulp - there is no time thru out the day that I don't have a bottle in my hands........

Question Monica: Did your stomach make gurgly noises for a while after surgery and does that stop at some point?

not me, but i've heard lots of people say that they have had incredible noises coming from their stomachs. Just one of the parts of the adventure.
Sometimes my thirst is better satisfied by something sour, like lemon.. Do you use crystal light? i particularly like the pink lemonade flavour.
