I just won $1,000 on CHUM-FM's Beat The Bank!!! The bell went off on the next draw, so I stopped at the perfect time!!

I'm going to treat myself to a new outside swing chair (3 seater), and the rest goes towards the roof.

Awesome!!!! Congrats!!! My mom is trying to convince me to go to Bingo tonight because apparently there are big prizes and I was holding out because it's expensive...maybe your luck will rub off on me :) lol

Beat The Bank is a contest that runs on CHUM-FM every once in awhile. They announce the time to call in and if you're Caller 25, you get to play. I've been #12, #19, #22 before.

They "open bank vaults" with some money in it - usually starts around $200 (it goes up as high as $500,000). After every 'vault' they open, you can choose to continue to take the cash. Mine went $400, $600, $700, $900, $1,000 - then I decided to take the money. Then next 'vault' they opened sounded the alarm, which meant that if I hadn't stopped, I would have lost it all. So I got out just in time!!

A few people in my area at work have won either money or trips from CHUM. One girl is leaving for Barbados in a week or so - she's taking her brother. Another has won 2 trips and some cash.

I'll gladly pay for your drink at the next coffee night. You usually bring your own, right?
